Men's Bowling Wins Mountain Valley Conference Championship!

The men's bowling team won the Mountain Valley Conference championship after sweeping both sets in the final conference match of the season in Queensbury, NY. The women's program posted a final match score of 3,514. 

In the first set of the men's match, the Vikings were led by Christian Caputowho posted a triple round score of 700 with game scores of 247, 209 and 244. As a team, Hudson Valley posted a match-best score of 3,306 after the first set of games. Jordan Nichols followed Caputo with a triple score of 680 and Codi Genthneradded 644 pins, all coming in the first three games. 

In the second set of games, the Vikings edged out Herkimer by 11 pins and claimed the program's 23rdconference championship and their first since 2012. Five Vikings finished with a second set score of at least 612 pins or better and were led by Jason Macey's 646 triple score. 

For the women, freshman Haley Salvagione led the way for the Vikings in the first triple with a final score of 439, which featured individual game scores of 149, 158 and 132. Carmen Morales also posted a game-high score of 158 in the second game of the match. 

In the final set of the afternoon, Jordan Thomas and Gianna Weiss put together team-best triple scores with Thomas leading the way with a final score of 584, which included a team-best individual game score of 234. Weiss finished with a 557, which included a 201 in game three of the final set. 

The men's and women's bowling teams will now prepare for the NJCAA Region 3 Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Utica, NY, hosted by Mohawk Valley.
