The Hudson Valley Community College bowling team participated in the 2019 Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Qualifier on March 9-10 in Stratford, N.J.
The Vikings started slow as they were in 20thplace after the first 32 games of the tournament. Hudson Valley managed to jump a couple of spots in the final day to finish the two-day tournament in 18thplace with 11,118 pins.
The conclusion of Sectionals brings an end to the 2018-19 bowling season. The Vikings finished second in the conference standings with an overall record of 24-6 and placed fifth in the final standings at the NJCAA Region 3 tournament.
Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk), Michael Taber (New Baltimore/Coxsackie-Athens) and Christian Caputo (Rotterdam/Schalmont) earned First-Team All-Conference recognition this season and Baker claimed the conference High-Triple of the Season (760) and the High-Game of the season (286), which were both obtained on Feb. 15 at Hilltop Bowl in Troy, NY.
