The Hudson Valley bowling swept the final two matches of the Mountain Valley Conference season as they hosted the 2019 Hudson Valley Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Hilltop Bowl in Troy, NY.

The Vikings tallied 3,434 and 3,342 pins in the two matches, totaling 6,776 pins, and finished with a 10-0 head-to-head record. Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) had a great day for the Vikings as he finished with the high-triple with a three-game score of 760 in the second match of the game. Baker also just missed out on a 300-game in the opening match. He started game three with 10 straight strikes and then tallied a nine in his last roll and finished with a tournament-high 286.

Anthony Hurlburt (Hoosick Falls/ Hoosick Falls) claimed the top score in the first match with a pin total of 733. Dominick Ippolito (Waterford/Waterford-Halfmoon) and Jordan Nichols (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) also joined Hurlburt and Baker as the only Vikings bowlers to reach the 700 triple-game threshold.

Despite sweeping the matches, the Vikings finished second place in the conference standings with an overall record of 24-6. Fulton-Montgomery won the conference championship by one point and finished with an overall record of 25-5.

Baker, Michael Taber (New Baltimore/Coxsackie-Athens) and Christian Caputo (Rotterdam/Schalmont) earned First-Team All-Conference and Baker claimed the conference High-Triple of the Season (760) and the High-Game of the season (286), which were both obtained at today's tournament.

The bowling team is back in action as they compete for the NJCAA Region 3 Championship on Sunday, February 17 in Erie, NY.
