Hudson Valley's bowling team just missed out on winning the Westchester Classic as they finished 20 pins behind the overall leader, Corning, on Sunday afternoon in Carmel, NY. 

As a team, the Vikings finished in second place out of a total of nine participating teams. Hudson Valley recorded a final team score of 6650. 

Individually,Jordan Nichols (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) placed fourth overall in the singles events and the duo of Dominick Ippolito (Waterford/Waterford-Halfmoon) and Brandon Charette (Cohoes/Cohoes) placed fifth in the double portion of the tournament. Nichols and doubles partner Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) finished sixth. 

Nichols also earned a top-10 finish in the all-events scoring of the tournament and Michael Taber (New Baltimore/Coxsackie-Athens) and David Shaw (Amsterdam/Amsterdam) finished 10thand 12th, respectively, in the final all-events standings. 

The bowling program hits the road for a Mountain Valley Conference meet hosted by Fulton-Montgomery on Wednesday, January 30.
