Men’s Bowling Finished Fourth at Regional Tournament

The Hudson Valley Community College men's bowling team participated in and placed fourth at the NJCAA Region 3 bowling tournament, hosted by Mohawk Valley in Utica, N.Y. on Sunday afternoon.

As a team, the Vikings tallied 8,831 total pins and finished fifth in the baker games with total score of 1,035. The men's team missed third place by 93 pins and missed second place by 113 pins.

The Vikings swept the top-three spots in the singles portion of the regional tournament. Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans/Selkirk) won the singles competition with 842 pins, Nathan Laustrup (Troy/Lansingburgh) placed second with 822 pins and Garrett Bartlett (Brunswick/Tamarac) took third place with 820 pins. Bartlett placed third in the overall standings with a total pin score of 1618.

Spencer McClellan (Troy/Lansingburgh) finished sixth in the overall standings with a score of 1,599 and also placed sixth in the singles portion of the tournament with a score of 818.

The men's doubles team of Baker and Bartlett finished ninth overall and tallied a score of 1,533.

The men's bowling team will now prepare for the NJCAA National Bowling tournament on March 1 – 3, 2018.
