The Hudson Valley Community College men's bowling team participated in and placed second at the Hawk Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Utica, N.Y.

As a team, the Vikings scored 8,782 total pins in the six-team tournament. The team also posted a score of 1,096 in their six baker games.

The men's team did exceptionally well in their double matches as they placed first and third overall. The duo of Garrett Bartlett (Brunswick/Tamarac) and Joshua McCart (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) finished at the top with a score of 1,629. The team of Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) and Spencer McClellan (Troy/Lansingburgh) placed third with a score of 1,604. McCart finished the tournament in fifth place overall, while Bartlett finished seventh and McClellan placed ninth in the final overall standings.

Nathan Loustrup (Troy/Lansingburgh) also earned a top-10 finish for the Vikings with his singles score of 753.

The men's bowling team is back on the road this Friday and Saturday as they travel back to Mohawk Valley for a conference match on Jan. 26 and head south for the Westchester Shootout on Jan. 27.
