Men’s Bowling Places Second in Conference Match

The Hudson Valley Community College men's bowling participated in its first conference match of the season and placed second among the six members of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference on Wednesday evening.  

The team combined to strike down a total of 5,761 pins with a 960.17 team average during the six game match.

The Vikings had all six of the team's scoring bowlers finish inside the top-20 of the match. Nathan Laustrup (Troy/Lansingburgh) placed ninth with a hi-game of 223, a hi-series of 635 for a total of 1,161 pins. Garrett Bartlett (Brunswick/Tamarac) finished 10th with a hi-game of 224, a hi-series of 652 and tallied 1,152 total pins.

Joshua McCart (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) finished in 11th place, right behind Laustrup and Bartlett. McCart rolled a hi-game of 236, a hi-series of 570 with 1,132 total pins in six games. Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) also finished inside the top-15 as he tallied 1,117 total pins with a hi-game of 213 and a hi-series of 563.

Spencer McClellan (Troy/Lansingburgh) and Dominick Ippolitto (Waterford/Waterford-Halfmoon) rounds out the Vikings top six bowlers. McClellan placed 17th with a hi-game of 211, a hi-series of 556 and 1,081 pins. Ippolito averaged a 176 with a 199 hi-game, a 538 hi-series with 1,056 total pins.

The men's bowling team is traveling to Wappingers Falls for the Blue and Orange Classic this Saturday, Jan. 20.
