Former Hudson Valley Community College bowler Erin Fagan (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) will be competing in the first-ever NCAA National Collegiate Women's Bowling Championship on April 8-10 at the Emerald Bowl in Houston, Texas.
Fagan is a junior at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore - one of eight universities selected to compete in this year's championship. The other seven schools are the University of Nebraska, Central Missouri State University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey City University, Sacred Heart University, Southern University and Winston-Salem State University.
The tournament will be broadcast on a one-day tape delay on ESPN2. The 90-minute program will air at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 11.
There are 42 universities that offer women's bowling as an NCAA sport.
Fagan was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American at Hudson Valley. She won the NJCAA singles title in 2002 and the NJCAA double championship in 2003.
