At the Hudson Valley Community College Invitational on Thursday, Feb. 7, Hudson Valley's women's bowling team captured first place, racking up 2,832 pins. Hudson Valley's men's team finished second in the tourney, which was held at Hilltop Lanes, tallying 3,099 pins. Mohawk Valley Community College finished first among the men with 3,196 pins.
Melissa Blair (Columbia H.S.) led the Lady Vikings with a 662 series. Hudson Valley's women's squad now sits atop the Mountain Valley Conference with a 3-0 league record. The Lady Vikings are ranked No. 2 in the nation among junior colleges.
Justin Wittig (Guilderland H.S.)'s 625 series topped Hudson Valley's men. The Vikings are now 10-2 in Mountain Valley Conference action, which ties them for first with Mohawk Valley.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business, Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
