Men's Basketball Snaps Losing Streak with Road Win

The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team snapped its eight-game losing streak as they defeated Cayuga 77-65 on Saturday afternoon in Auburn, NY.

The men jumped out to a very strong start, outscoring the Spartans 31-10 in the first 12 minutes of the game, which paced the Vikings towards the crucial Region 3 road win. The Vikings had five individuals score at least 10 points in the game with Keyaton Parks leading the way with 16 points on six field goals. James Blake II had a strong game as well, scoring 14 points, including seven points in the second half of the game.

Brandon Gordon returned to action with a strong first half, scoring nine of his 13 total points in the first 20-minutes of the game. Ian Fisher-Layton continued his strong play over the last couple of games and tallied 12 points on five field goals made.

The men's program returns to the court tomorrow, Sunday, January 28 to close out the weekend road trip at Finger Lakes in Canandaigua, NY. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m.
