The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team edged Corning for a road victory after defeating the Red Barons 73-70 on Saturday afternoon in Corning, NY.

The Vikings jumped out early and took a 36-28 lead into the halftime break behind a strong performance by James Blake II and Owen Feagles. The duo combined to score 22 of the team's 36 first half points. Blake finished the game with a game-high 22 points, which included 10-of-14 from the free throw line. Feagles finished the game with 14 points before he fouled out with seconds remaining in the game.

In the second half, Corning did their best to complete the comeback as they outscored the Vikings 42-39, but the first half deficit was too much for the Red Barons to overcome and the Vikings improved to 2-7 on the season.

Up next for the men's basketball team is the final leg of the road weekend trip as they take on No. 12 Genesee at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Sunday, December 10 in Batavia, NY.
