Trevor Green Scores 1,000th Career Point

The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball sophomore Trevor Green (Troy / Lansingburgh) became only the fifth member of the HVCC men's basketball to score 1,000 career points following a 23-point performance in the Vikings 80-71 loss at top-seeded Mohawk Valley in the NJCAA Region 3 semifinal round in Utica, NY on Saturday afternoon.
Green's 23 points were a game-high as he entered the game needing only 19 points to reach the career achievement. Green reached the mark late in the second half of the game when he hit 1-of-2 free throws with 3:07 remaining in the game. Green finishes his career in fourth place on the HVCC men's basketball all-time scoring list with 1,004 points. Green is the first 1,000-point scorer since Ramel Alexander accomplished the feat in 2010.
Ducey Hughes is the Vikings current all-time leading scorer who finished he career on at the valley with 1,314 points from 1977-79. William "Ducey" Hughes earned All-Region III honors and was named an NJCAA All-American after averaging 27 points per game for the men's basketball team in 1979. He also averaged 22 points per game in the 1977-78 season and earned a basketball scholarship to Manhattan College after graduating from Hudson Valley.
Newly inducted Hudson Valley Athletics Hall of Famer, Justin Gallo, scored 1,148 career points between 2006-08 and Alexander is third on the list with 1,086 career points. Don Mullaney, the first student-athlete to reach 1,000 career points in program history has 1,003 points when we suited up for the Vikings in 1963-65.
