The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team fell short of its upset bid over No. 12 Fulton-Montgomery 85-83 in Johnstown, NY on Monday evening.

The Vikings and the Raiders shared baskets for the majority of the game and Jordan Belcher finished with a team-best 24 points, which included a go-ahead basket with 2:13 remaining on the clock to put the Vikings ahead of the nationally-ranked Raiders 80-79. Trevor Green helped extend the late game lead to 83-81after connecting on an "and-1" basket and the free throw with 1:46 remaining. Green finished the game with 15 points on six made field goals.

However, Fulton-Montgomery put pressure on the Vikings defense and drew a foul on Hudson Valley with 1:35 remaining. The Raiders connected on both free throws and ultimately draining the game-winning shot on the Vikings with 0.7 seconds remaining in the game, to secure the win.

The Vikings were led by Belcher, who finished with a team-best 24 points on 10 made field goal and Bianchino shot the ball well from behind the arc, hitting three, three-point field goals and finished with 13 points. Demani Benjamin scored nine of his 13 points in the second half of the game as eight Vikings scored at least one basket in game.

Hudson Valley concludes the regular season with a 16-9 record and a 15-7 Region 3 record. The Vikings are currently ranked fourth and we will find out the fate of our postseason seed on Thursday evening, following the Region 3 men's basketball postseason seeding committee meeting at 6 p.m.
