Men's Basketball's Win Streak Continues with Road Win

The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball program pushed their win streak to four straight games after they earned a convincing 80-65 road win at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY on Saturday afternoon.

Hudson Valley held the lead for the majority of the game and entered the halftime break leading 34-28. In the second half, the Vikings offense exploded for 46 points and were led by Trevor Green, who finished the game with a game-high 24 points and added five rebounds, six assists and three steals. Green has been an essential piece to the Vikings success this season and he has helped his teammates succeed as well as his six assists were also a game-best in 35 minutes of action.

Demani Benjamin shot 7-of-15 from the floor, including 2-of-6 from behind the three-point arc, finished with 17 points, three boards and four assists.  Josh Kiefer and Jourdan Belcher each tallied eight points, with Kiefer connecting on a pair of three-point field goals. Belcher shot 3-of-9 and grabbed eight rebounds and a pair of steals in a limited 21 minutes.

The men's program improved to 13-5 in the Region 3 standings and currently sit in fourth place as they enter a showdown with a competitive Onondaga program tomorrow, Sunday, February 5 at 3 p.m. in Syracuse, NY.
