Men's Basketball's Green Scores 36 points in Win over Cayuga

The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team snapped its two-game losing streak after they defeated Cayuga Community College 80-67 behind 36 point performance by Trevor Green in the McDonough Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Green led all scorers and added nine rebounds and four assists as he shot 11-of-19 from the floor, including 4-of-8 from behind the three-point arc. As a team, the Vikings connected on nine three-point field goals (42 percent), compared to two from Cayuga. Hudson Valley also shot 13-of-18 from the free throw line with Green leading the way going 10-of-11 from the stripe.

Demani Benjamin scored 17 points while shooting 8-of-17 and tallied three assists in 38 minutes of action. Josh Kiefer had a perfect shooting night, going 3-for-3 from the floor, including 2-of-2 from behind the three-point arc.

The men's basketball team is back home tomorrow, Sunday, January 29 as they host Finger Lakes at 2 p.m., following the conclusion of the women's basketball game at noon. The Vikings will honor its senior class of Jourdan Belcher, CJ Bianchino,  Willem Feeney, Trevor Green and Josh Kiefer, immediately following the women's game, around 1:30 p.m.
