The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball was defeated 89-83 on the road against a tough Massasoit program from Region 21 on Tuesday evening in Brockton, Mass.

The game was a back-and-forth affair as both programs traded baskets for the majority of the game until Massasoit was able to pull away from the Vikings around the 8-minute mark in the second half when they extended their lead to 68-58 and managed to keep the Vikings at bay to hand them its first loss since November 29. The game was tied 39-39 at the halftime break.

The Vikings were led by sophomore Trevor Green (Troy / Lansingburgh), who finished with a game-high 26 points with nine field goals made. This week's NJCAA Region 3 men's basketball player of the week, Jourdan Belcher (Elmsford / Alexander Hamilton) also reached the 20-point plateau as he tallied 21 points on the night, including 16 points in the second half.
