Green Scores 35; Men's Basketball Wins Three Straight

The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team won its third straight game as they earned a Region 3 road victory 87-77 over Clinton in Plattsburgh, NY on Thursday.

For the majority of the first half the two programs shared baskets, resulting in a 32-32 tie at the halftime break. In the first half the Vikings offense was led by Kobi Wallace and Willem Feeney. Wallace finished the first half with nine points and Feeney had seven.

In the second half, the Vikings leading scorer, Trevor Green, took over the game, scoring 29 of his game-high 35 points in the second half on seven field goals, including two from behind the three-point arc and 13-of-16 from the free throw line. Green finished the game converting on 10 consecutive free throw attempts as the Vikings outscored the Cougars 55-45 to clinch the victory.

Green was one of four Vikings to finish the game with double-digit scoring. Feeney and Wallace both finished the game with 11 points each and Jourdan Belcher added 12 points, which he scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half.

The Vikings are back in action on this Saturday, November 19 when they travel to take on North Country in Saranac Lake, NY. The game is part of a double-feature with the women's programs, which is set to kick off at 1 p.m. with the women's game and the men will follow around 3 p.m.
