Green Garners All-Region Selection

The NJCAA Region 3 released its 2021-22 men's basketball All-Region teams, as voted on by the head coaches. Freshman Trevor Green (Troy/Lansingburgh) represents the Vikings as the only All-Region selection.
Green, a Capital Region native, was named to the All-Region Second Team following a season where he led the Vikings offensively with 18.9 points per game. He was a staple in the Vikings starting lineup, starting all 22 games he played and averaged 33 minutes per game. Green surpassed 20 points in a game in six games and hit the 30-point plateau three times, including a career-high 36 points in the Vikings 111-98 home win over Fulton-Montgomery on Feb. 10.
When the calendar hit 2022, the Vikings went on a streak like no other, winning 10 of the final 11 games of the season to catapult into the No. 4 seed of the Region 3 playoffs. During this streak, Green averaged 22 points, 8. 3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.1 blocks per game, while shooting 57 percent (76-of-133) from the floor.
The Vikings finished the year with a 16-7 record and earned a first-round bye into the Region 3 quarterfinal round. Green scored finished with 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals in defeat, bringing the men's basketball season to a close for the 2021-22 season.
