The Hudson Valley men's basketball season ended after they were defeated in the NJCAA Region 3 semifinal round to the top-seeded Mohawk Valley 96-83 on Saturday afternoon in Utica, NY.

The game featured a close first half as they Vikings trailed the Hawks by seven points at the halftime break. Hudson Valley led by as many as six points in the opening half, but later struggled with foul trouble, which factored into the Vikings second half deficit at the end of the game.

Leading the way for the Vikings was freshman point guard Iziah Pigott. Pigott finished with a game-high 26 points and seven assists on 8-of-17 shooting and 6-of-11 from behind the arc.

Brandon McKenly, a NJCAA Region 3 First-Team honoree, finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Daivel Jackson and Zach Hilton guided the Vikings off the bench as they combined for 27 points. Jackson finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Hilton put in 13 points on 4-for-7 shooting.

The Vikings 2019-2020 season was one of the more successful seasons under seventh year head coach Mike Long, which saw Coach Long surpassed 500 career wins, the program reached the final four for the first time under his tenure and they posted a 20-win season for the second straight year.
