Men's Basketball Defeats Springfield Tech

Men's basketball defeated Springfield Tech 89-75 on December 12, 2019.

The Hudson Valley men's basketball team closed out the fall semester with a 89-75 road win against Springfield Tech on Thursday evening in Springfield, Mass. 

 The Vikings entered halftime leading 46-39 and extended their lead throughout the second half as they put Springfield Tech away with a double-digit victory. Hudson Valley had five individuals finish with at least 10 points and were led by sophomore Ryan Long. Long put in a season-high 19 points on six made baskets, including a pair of three pointers and five free-throws. 

Daivel Jackson, who recently returned from an injury he obtained during the football season, had a nice scoring night for the Vikings. Jackson hit four baskets and shot 5-of-6 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points. 

Brandon McKenly and Luke Bourgault each finished with 10 points and freshman point guard, Iziah Pigott added 11 points for Hudson Valley. 

The Vikings do not return to action until after the holiday break. They are scheduled to take on Columbia-Greene on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 1 p.m.
