McKenly Records 20 Rebounds in Men's Basketball Win

The Hudson Valley men's basketball team defeated Jefferson 84-74 to remain unbeaten on Friday evening at the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. 

In a back and forth game, the Vikings and Cannoneers traded baskets throughout the first half and the majority of the second half. Hudson Valley eventually pulled away late in the game to secure the 10-point win. Jefferson had pulled within five points in the final minutes of the game, but the Vikings held their own and converted on the late game free throws. 

Every member of the Vikings team scored as the they were led by Shamar Moore-Hough (Wheatley Heights/Half Hollow Hill East) and Brandon McKenly (Brooklyn/Leadership & Public Service), who scored 19 points and 16 points, respectively. McKenly had a monster double-double as he recorded a game-high 20 rebounds. Moore-Hough finished the game 8-of-14 from the floor, including 3-of-8 from behind the arc. 

Will Aybar (Albany/Colonie) also surpassed double-digit scoring with 13 points and posted a game-high eight assists and added a pair of steals in 33 minutes of action.

The Vikings are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, November 9 when they travel to face the defending NJCAA National Champions Herkimer in Herkimer, NY. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
