Canty, Brooks Lead Men's Basketball to Fifth Straight Win

Hudson Valley's men's basketball team (19-5) won their fifth game in a row after defeating North Country 107-84 on the road in Saranac Lake, NY on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings received huge performances from O'Nandi Brooks (Brooklyn/George Westinghouse) and Caleb Canty (Hudson/Hudson). Canty finished with a team-high 29 points with 11 made field goals, including three three-point field goals. Brooks tallied 26 points on 11 field goals.

Brandon Holmes (Troy/Troy), Avery Deas (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) and Willy Aybar (Albany/Colonie) also scored in double figures as the trip combined to score 34 points. Holmes finished with season-high 14 points. Deas and Aybar each scored 10 points to help pace Hudson Valley to their 19thwin of the season. 

The men's program is back on the road this Wednesday, February 13 when they travel to play Columbia-Greene. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in Hudson, NY.
