Hudson Valley's men's basketball team (13-4) couldn't overcome a late game surge by Fulton-Montgomery as the Vikings were defeated 88-78 on Monday night in the McDonough Sports Complex.

O'nandi Brooks (Brooklyn/George Westinghouse) led four Vikings in double-figures as he finished with a team-high 18 points and added six rebounds. Brandon DeGrasse (Bronx/E.A. Reynolds Westside) recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Hudson Valley's leading scorer, Caleb Canty (Hudson/Hudson) connected on seven field goals and finished with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Fulton-Montgomery and Hudson Valley continued to battle the entire game, which led to a 38-38 tie at halftime. In the second half, the Raiders made one last push with a 21-4 run over a five-minute span late in the game to put the game out of reach for the Vikings. Fulton-Montgomery's Chris Toussaint led all scorers with 30 points and added nine boards.

Willy Aybar (Albany/Colonie) went on a run of his own as he scored the Vikings final 13 points of the game in an attempt to bring the game closer, but the Raiders earlier run was too much for the Hudson Valley to overcome

Hudson Valley hits the road on Thursday, January 24 to face Dutchess. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
