Hudson Valley's men's basketball student-athlete O'nandi Brooks (Brooklyn/George Westinghouse) has been named the NJCAA Region 3 Men's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by Region 3.

Brooks posted two straight double-doubles, including a monster 20-20 performance in the Vikings win over Tompkins Cortland. Brooks finished with 21 points and 21 rebounds and added five blocks to help the Vikings pull away from the TC3 Panthers. O'nandi also posted 15 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks in the Vikings one-point loss to Onondaga. Brooks orchestrated an 8-0 run against Onondaga to push the Vikings back on top late in the game.

The Vikings men's basketball program is currently ranked eighth in the latest NJCAA national poll with a 11-2 record. The program is returns to the court after the holiday break on Tuesday, January 8 when Hudson Valley welcomes rival Columbia-Greene to the McDonough Sports Complex at 1 p.m.
