Canty Named Region 3 Basketball Player of the Week

Hudson Valley’s men’s basketball student-athlete Caleb Canty (Hudson/Hudson) has been named the NJCAA Region 3 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as announced by Region 3.

Canty led the Vikings to a 2-0 record as he averaged 26.0 points per game on 16-for-28 from the floor and 15-17 from the free throw line. Following the quick start, Canty currently ranks third among Region 3 participants in scoring.

The Vikings men’s basketball program is off to a great start as Canty led the high scoring offense to quality wins over Rockland (101-62) and Cayuga (103-78) last week. 

Hudson Valley is back in action this weekend for back-to-back road games against Herkimer on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Jefferson on Sunday at 3 p.m.
