Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (12-15) closed out the 2017-18 season on a high note with a 91-84 victory over Fulton-Montgomery on Wednesday evening at the McDonough Sports Complex in Troy, N.Y.

The Vikings honored their senior class prior to the game that consisted of the senior leaders taking over the game late to help the Vikings pull out the victory in their season finale.

Dave Reo (North Greenbush/Catholic Central) led five Vikings in double-figures with a game-high 20 points. Reo consistently created open shots off the dribble as he attacked the rim for easy buckets and free throw opportunities, including a big three-point play late in the second half to rally the Vikings.

Forward Raheem Duncan (Queens/Green Tech) took over the game in the second half as he scored 17 of his 19 points in the final half. Duncan converted nine of 10 free throws in the second half and slammed home the dagger last in the final seconds of the game to help the Vikings secure their second straight win.

A pair of freshman student-athletes also had a big game for the Vikings. Sean Degraffenreid (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) and Brandon Degrasse (Bronx/E.A. Reynolds) combined to score 33 points tonight. Degraffenreid hit a clutch three-pointer with 40 seconds remaining in the game to put the Vikings up 83-80 and shifted the momentum back in favor of Hudson Valley. Degrasse finished the game with 16 points and shot 8-for-14 from the free throw line.

Sophomore Taylor Slattery (Moriah/Moriah) also reached double-figures as he finished with 11 points.

Tonight's game concludes the 2017-18 season that featured its share of up and down moments, highlighted by the Vikings six-game win streak in the second half of the season and Hudson Valley's 75-63 win over then No.2 Herkimer College on Jan. 27 at home.
