Men's Basketball Falls to Columbia-Greene

Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (10-14) was defeated 99-88 by Columbia-Greene Community College on Wednesday evening in the McDonough Sports Complex.

The game featured a handful of offensive runs. The Vikings trailed 55-45 with 16:30 remaining in the game as they went on a 6-0 run to close the gap to 55-51. Columbia-Greene immediately responded with a 10-0 run to push their lead back to double digits and led 65-51 with 14:20 remaining.

Hudson Valley continued to fight but was unable to overcome the last offensive push by the Twins as they finished the game on a 12-4 run to secure the victory.

Steven Clarke (New Hempstead/Spring Valley) led five Vikings in double-digit scoring as he finished with a team-high 19 points. Clarke hit eight field goals and a pair of free throws. Mitchell Dame (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and David Reo (North Greenbush/Catholic Central) each finished with 14 points with Reo hitting a pair of three-point field goals.

Sean Degraffenreid (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) and Brandon Degrasse (Bronx/E.A. Reynolds) combined for 26 points as they both scored 13 points each. Degraffenreid's 13 points were tied for his second best offensive output this season.

The men's basketball team hits the road on Saturday, Feb. 17 as they travel to play Mohawk Valley at 3 p.m.
