Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (8-12) has now won four straight games after defeating Adirondack 87-61 on Wednesday evening in Queensbury, NY.

The four game win streak comes after the Vikings experienced their longest losing streak of the season, dropping six straight games. Hudson Valley has continued their strong play behind the consistent play by Mitchell Dame (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and Brandon Degrasse (Bronx/E.A. Reynolds).

Dame led the Vikings on Wednesday evening with 16 points and has now scored double figures in three of the last four wins for Hudson Valley. Degrasse scored all of his 13 points in the first half of the game to help the Vikings jump out to an early lead on Adirondack. Hudson Valley entered the break with a 41-33 advantage.

Taylor Slattery (Moriah/Moriah) had a big night offensively as he finished with a game-high 17 points. Slattery and Dame combined to score 22 of their 33 points in the second half. The duo guided the Vikings in the final 20 minutes as they outscored Adirondack 46-28.

Lennox Degrasse (Bronx/Manhattan Comprehensive) and Eddie Kwaw (Yonkers/Riverside) scored 10 points each in the Vikings victory.

The men's basketball team is back home this Saturday, Feb. 3 as they welcome Schenectady at 2 p.m. During the game, the team will be holding a fundraiser for their teammate, Justus Simon, who has been diagnosed with cancer. The team is selling Justus Simon t-shirts for $20 and will be accepting donations for the Simon family.
