Men's Basketball Wins on the Road at Albany Pharmacy

Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (5-12) snapped its six-game losing streak with a 70-68 buzzer-beater win at Albany Pharmacy on Wednesday night.

Brandon Degrasse (Bronx/E.A. Reynolds) helped the Vikings snap its losing streak as he hit the game-winning field goal as time expired. Degrasse finished the game with eight points, 12 rebounds and a game-high six assists in 35 minutes of play.

Mitchell Dame (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) continued to play well for the Vikings as he recorded his third double-double of the season after scoring 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds in 37 minutes. Dame currently averages 14.3 points per game on 49.5 percent shooting to lead the Vikings in scoring this season.

Hudson Valley held a 37-23 advantage at halftime and led for the majority of the game (34:12) before Albany Pharmacy took the lead late in the second half. As a team, the Vikings combined for 50 total rebounds, 14 assists and seven steals.

Eddie Kwaw (Yonkers/Riverside) and Sean Degraffenreid (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) combined to score 25 points off the bench. Kwaw shot 5-for-9 from the floor for 12 points in 21 minutes and Degraffenreid added 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting, including 3-for-3 from behind the arc.

The Vikings are home this Saturday, Jan. 27 for a double-header with the women's program as they welcome No.2 ranked Herkimer to the McDonough Sports Complex at 1 p.m. followed by the women's game at 3 p.m.
