Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (4-10) couldn't overcome a late game deficit as the Vikings dropped its fourth straight game after falling to Clinton 91-85 at McDonough Sports Complex.

The short-handed Vikings entered halftime leading Clinton 45-40. In the second half, Hudson Valley posted another 40-point half as they were led by Steven Clarke (New Hempstead/Spring Valley) and Mitchell Dame (Niskayuna/Niskayuna). Clarke earned 12 of his team-high 19 points in the first half, providing the Vikings with the offensive spark early in the game. Dame increased his scoring in the second half as he scored 13 of his 17 points in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Eddie Kwaw (Yonkers/Riverside) proved to be a threat from beyond the arc as he finished with five three-point field goals for 15 points. Kyle Dikeman (Schenectady/Bishop Gibbons) also expanded the floor for Hudson Valley, as he hit three field goals from behind the arc in the first half and finished the game with 13 points.

Sean Degraffenreid (Glenville/Scotia-Glenville) also poured in 13 points for the Vikings.

Clinton was led by Choubert Jean Baptiste with 29 points and DaJuan Williamson added 21 points for the Cougars.

The Vikings are back in action next week, Thursday, January 18 as they welcome No.6 Mohawk Valley Community College (12-1) to the McDonough Sports Complex at 7 p.m.
