Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (3-6) was defeated 81-73 by Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday afternoon at the McDonough Sports Complex.

The Vikings trailed 36-33 at halftime and Finger Lakes jumped out to a 17-6 run in the first 4:15 of the second half and extended its lead to 53-39. Hudson Valley fought hard and cut the deficit to 66-62 following a pair of great plays by Zach Hilton (Rennselaerville/Berne-Knox-Westerlo). Following a pair of made free throws, Hilton tipped an offensive rebound back up and in the net to cut the Lakers lead to four points. Hilton finished the game with seven points.

Following a Lakers basket, Taylor Slattery (Moriah/Moriah) found his way inside the paint and scored on a soft floater and the Vikings trailed 68-64. Finger Lakes guard, Shane Fanning responded with a pair of clutch three-point baskets to extend the Lakers lead to 74-64. Fanning scored again later to push the lead to 79-64 and secure the win for Finger Lakes.

Sean Webb (Harlem/Hospitality Mgt) led the Vikings with 18 points, including three 3-point buckets. Mitchell Dame (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) surpassed double-figures once again with 14 points. Sean Degraffenreid (Glenville/Scotia-Glenville) added nine points and Brandon Degrasse (Bronx/E.A. Reynolds) and Dave Reo (North Greenbush/Catholic Central) each added seven points for the Vikings.

The Vikings are back home tomorrow, Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. as they welcome Corning Community College to Troy, N.Y.
