Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball (1-1) dropped today's away game against Cayuga 88-78.

The Vikings were led offensively by Mitchell Dame (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) as he scored a team-high 17-points with sophomore guard Dave Reo (North Greenbush/Catholic Central) adding 16 points as the Vikings couldn't overcome the late game deficit to Cayuga.

The Vikings entered halftime with a 34-31 advantage with Reo and Taylor Slattery (Moriah/Moriah) each scoring eight points in the opening half. Dame scored the majority of his points in the second half as he dropped 12 points and the Vikings scored 44 second half points as they fought to reduce Cayuga's lead to no avail as the Vikings defense allowed Cayuga to score 57 second half points.

The men's program is back in action on Friday, Nov. 10 to play Jefferson at 8 p.m. at the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley.
