The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (6-5) lost to Corning Community College (7-1) 87-70 on Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings trailed the Red Barons 48-36 at the end of the first half, but opened the second with a 17-4 run to take a 53-52 lead. The lead would be short-lived after Corning went on a 10-0 run of their own to take control of the game.
Brandon Palmer (Columbia/East Greenbush) was the leading scorer for the Vikings with 24 points. Caleb Canty (Hudson/Hudson) recorded 17 points, and John Palmer (Columbia/East Greenbush) contributed 10 points in the loss.
The men host undefeated Onondaga on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
