The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (5-4) defeated Dutchess Community College (3-9) 83-67 on Thursday evening.
The Vikings went into the locker room trailing 34-31 after the Falcons hit a three-pointer as time expired in the first half.
Hudson Valley opened the second half with a 10-0 run, holding Dutchess scoreless for the first four minutes of the second half. The men held Dutchess from scoring a field goal in the first six minutes of the half to break the game open, and the Vikings maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game.
John Palmer (Columbia/East Greenbush) scored 14 points in the second half to lead the team with 24. Kevin Lenehan (Duanesburg/Delanson) added 21 points, and Dave Reo (Catholic Centra/North Greenbush) and Caleb Canty (Hudson/Hudson) both scored 11 points in the win.
The men travel to Finger Lakes on Saturday at 3 p.m.
