The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (20-10) lost to Mohawk Valley Community College (19-9) 84-82 on Tuesday evening.
The Vikings trailed early in the game but ended up taking a 40-37 lead into the half. Mohawk Valley was able to chip away at a 14-point lead and tied the game with under a minute to go. After a Hudson Valley turnover, the Hawks came down and scored on a layup with 2.9 seconds to go to win the game. Jordan Nelson (Troy/Troy) led the team with 15 points, and Diamond Corker (Scotia-Glenville/Scotia) added 12 in the loss.
The Vikings closed the season with 20 wins for the first time since the 2012-13 season.
