The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (13-7) defeated SUNY Broome Community College (9-8) 83-75 in overtime on Sunday afternoon.
A day after losing to No. 8 Herkimer, the Vikings bounced back to defeat Broome, outscoring the Hornets 12-4 in overtime to earn the win. Hudson Valley trailed by three with 10 seconds left in regulation, before John Palmer (Columbia/East Greenbush) hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. Diamond Corker (Scotia-Glenville/Scotia) came off the bench to spark the Vikings and scored five of his nine points in the overtime period. Kleon Davis (Columbia/East Greenbush) led the team with 19 points, and John Palmer added 18 in the win.
The men travel to Adirondack on Wednesday for a game at 7 p.m.
