The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (11-5) lost to Mohawk Valley Community College (8-7) 72-70 on Thursday evening.
Mohawk Valley was able to chip away at a 10-point deficit after center Kevin Lenehan (Duanesburg/Delanson) fouled out of the game. The Vikings tied the game at 70 with under a minute to go, but the Hawks were able to get a late basket, and Hudson Valley came up short on the final possession. Kabongo Ngalakulondi (Manchester Memorial/Manchester, NH) led the team with 16 points, and Lenehan chipped in 15, all of which came in the first half.
The men travel to Fulton-Montgomery on Saturday for a game at 3 p.m.
