The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (12-9) defeated Schenectady County Community College (1-16), 85-79, in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
The Vikings trailed by four at the half, but held a lead towards the end of regulation before Schenectady scored with five seconds left to force overtime. The Vikings took over in overtime led by Nhoel Deverson (McClancy/Queens) who scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half and overtime to lead the team. Elijah Newsome (Cohoes/Cohoes) recorded 13 points, and Codi Gorman (Shaker/Latham) and Blake Mosley (Lansingburgh/Troy) each added 10 in the win.
The men host TC3 tomorrow at 2 p.m.
