The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (1-0) defeated Dutchess Community College (1-1), 56-51, on Tuesday evening.
The Vikings trailed by 12 in the second, but they battled their way back to earn the hard fought win. Elijah Newsome (Cohoes/Cohoes) led the Vikings with 16 points, and Brendan Archer (Schoharie/Sloansville) and Imre Megyeri (Troy/Troy) each scored 10 in the win.
The Vikings host Ulster on Thursday at 7 p.m.
