The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (19-10) defeated #6 SUNY Delhi (24-4) 49-47 on Saturday afternoon.
Jose Reyes (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) scored eight of the team's first 12 points as the Vikings jumped out to a 27-24 lead at the half. Hudson Valley held a lead the entire game until Delhi tied it up with a minute left. On the Vikings final possession of the game, Reyes drove and found Nate Krimsky (Berne-Knox/Berne) for a layup to break a 47-47 tie with only .9 seconds remaining. Both Reyes and Krimsky finished with 14 points each, and Jeremy Taylor (Catskill/Catskill) chipped in 11 in the big win. The Vikings have now won their last five games heading into the final game of the season.
The men close the regular season on the road on Wednesday against #8 Herkimer at 7p.m.
