The men's basketball team enters the 2012-2013 season returning three players from last year's team. The Vikings finished 4th in the Region and made it to the quarterfinals of the Regional tournament.
Hudson Valley lost two key players from last year's squad in forward Kalik Parker (Ragsdale/Jamestown, NC) and forward Conor Maisch (Coleman Catholic/Kingston). Parker finished the 2011-12 season as a First-Team All-Region and First-Team All-Conference selection. Maisch was named to Third-Team All-Conference.
The Vikings return two starters from last season, Jeffrey Kruzinski (Mohonasen/Schenectady) and Jeremy Taylor (Catskill/Catskill). Connor Chapman (Northeastern Clinton/Champlain) also returns as a valuable reserve off of the bench for the Vikings. As point guard, Kruzinski averaged (8.0) points, (4.3) assists, shot (43.3%) from the three-point line, and (86.2%) from the free-throw line. Taylor averaged (10.5) points, (5.1) rebounds, and shot (53.8%) from the field.
The Vikings add guards Brandon Dean (Flagler Palm Coast/Bunnell, FL), Giacomo Giglio (Catholic Central/ Glenmont), Jon Griggs (Rome Free Academy/Utica), Simon Ohanian (Protestant Francais/Beirut, Lebanon) and Jose Reyes (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park)�forwards Joe Fey (Ichabod Crane/Kinderhook), Nate Monson (Cohoes/Cohoes) and Richard Williams (Harry S. Truman/Bronx)� and center Nate Krimsky (Berne-Knox/Berne) to their roster. This recruiting class is loaded with talent from Section II. All will look to contribute in various roles to this season's success.
