The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (3-2) defeated Finger Lakes Community College (1-3) 55-53 on Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings trailed by nine points in the second half, but a 14-2 run sparked the Vikings past the Lakers. Jose Reyes (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) converted on three three-point field goals, leading the Vikings with 16 points. Brandon Dean (Flagler Palm Coast/Bunnell, FL) got to the line and scored 9 of his 14 points from the free throw stripe, and Jeremy Taylor (Catskill/Catskill) added 13 points in the win.
The Vikings travel to Springfield Tech on Tuesday for a game at 7 p.m.
