The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (1-0) opened the regular season with a win over Dutchess Community College (0-1) 98-80.
Conor Maish (Coleman Catholic/Kingston) led the Vikings with 25 points and returning starter Kalik Parker (Ragsdale/Greensboro, NC) added 24. Matt Walker (Benjamin Banneker/Brooklyn) scored 21 points and Jeremy Taylor (Catskill/Catskill) chipped in 12 points in the collaborative effort by the team.
The Vikings travel to Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Thursday at 7 p.m. to open up conference play.
