The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (9-10) took down the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Raiders (12-9), 75-65, on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at Fulton-Montgomery. The Vikings led by only one point at the break, but jumped out to an eleven-point lead early in the second half. Fulton-Montgomery's attempts at a comeback were answered by the Vikings with strong offensive post play down low. Steve Hunt (Tamarac/Wynantskill) had 14 of his 19 points in the second half, leading the team in scoring for the second straight game. Armand Thomas (Herbert H. Lehman/Bronx) had a solid performance in the post, scoring 14 points. After falling to the Raiders earlier in the season, the Vikings got a big win to pull them within one game of .500.
The men travel to North Country Community College for a rematch on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. The Vikings won the last meeting between the two teams, 97-79.
