The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (16-8) defeated Adirondack Community College, 85-64 on Monday, Feb. 8.
The Vikings jumped out to an early double-digit lead as they pounded the ball inside and finished lay-up after lay-up while forcing Adirondack into deep outside shots. Hudson Valley shot 61.9% from the field throughout the game. Adirondack had no answer for the Viking frontcourt as Carlos Pellot-Rivera (Carmel, Carmel) went nine-for-nine from the floor for a game-high 21 points. Forward Chris Hurin (Taconic Hills, Hudson) scored a career-high 12 points and Ramel Alexander (Berkshire, Albany) added 17 points.
The Vikings look to avenge an early-season loss as they host Columbia-Greene Community College (7-18) on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
