The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team defeated Mohawk Valley Community College, 70-62, in a physical battle on Thursday, Dec. 10. The Vikings held a 30-29 halftime lead. Hudson Valley made timely shots in the second half and were led by Ramel Alexander's (Berkshire, Albany) 21 second half points after he went scoreless in the first.
Freshman Kyle Mafrici (Colonie, Colonie) had a career-high 20 points in the contest. Matt Harte (Lansingburgh, Troy) chipped in with 11 points. In addition to his 21 points, Alexander added 15 rebounds, five steals and four assists.
The Vikings will be back in action when they travel to take on Broome Community College on Saturday, Dec. 12.
