The Hudson Valley Community men's basketball team went on the road to take on Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Thursday and came back with an 88-83 victory in a highly-competitive contest. The Vikings held an eight point lead at the half. FMCC cut the margin to one within the first four minutes of the second half. The Vikings responded with a 10-3 run. The Vikings never trailed in the second half, fending off several Fulton-Montgomery attempts at taking the lead.
The Vikings were led once again by the spectacular play of Ramel Alexander (Berkshire, Albany) who had 21 of his game-high 29 points in the second half. He also had 14 rebounds and seven assists. Sophomore guard Pat Lanoue (Hoosic Valley, Troy) poured in all of his 14 points in the first half including going three-for-four from behind the arch. Freshman guard Kyle Mafrici (Colonie, Schenectady) chipped in 12 points.
The Vikings will be back on the road Saturday to play at Onondaga Community College.
