Freshman guard Ramel Alexander (Albany HS/Albany) was named to the B.C.A.N.Y (Basketball Coaches Association of New York) All-New York State Junior College First Team.
Alexander led Hudson Valley in scoring this past season, averaging 13.5 points per game and also pulled down 5.2 rebounds per game. Hudson Valley finished the season 32-4, winning the Region III championship. The Vikings advanced to the national semi-final game at Delhi before falling to eventual champion Richland (TX), 59-57.
The Basketball Coaches Association of New York, Inc., exists to promote the sport of basketball statewide at all levels. Further, it seeks to improve the quality of coaching, foster friendship and statewide interaction among basketball coaches.
