Hudson Valley Community College graduate Emanuel "Tiki" Mayben was a key member on Binghamton University's first ever America East championship men's basketball team. Mayben averaged 11.5 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game and led the 23-9 Bearcats in assists. He was a second team all-conference selection.
In the NCAA Division I National Tournament, Binghamton played second seeded Duke University at the Greensboro Coliseum in front of 20,000 fans. Mayben played a fantastic all-around floor game for Binghamton, finishing with 13 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Tiki's Bearcats eventually lost to Duke, 84-62.
As a Viking, Mayben was the starting point guard for the 2007-08 men's basketball team. Tiki was an All-Region performer while leading the Vikings to a 30-1 record. Mayben averaged 19.6 ppg, 9.5 apg, and 7.2 rpg and left Hudson Valley as the all-time assist leader with 286.
