The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (32-2) advanced to the semi-finals of the NJCAA Division III National Championship with a 67-49 victory over College of DuPage. The Vikings jumped out to a 37-23 lead at the half and never looked back.
Leading the balanced offensive attack was Pat Lanoue (Lansingburgh HS/Hoosick Falls) with 18 points, five steals and four assists while Patrick Barnes (Mohonasen HS/Guilderland) added 14 points on seven of nine shooting from the field. Ian Austin-Michaud (Ichabod Crane HS/Valatie) also contributed 10 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in the victory.
The Vikings will play Richland College of Dallas, a 67-47 winner over Massachusetts Bay Community College, in the semi-finals at 8 p.m. Friday at SUNY Delhi.
